When Iowa’s Josh Gasser goes, so do we!
The Iowa men’s and women’s basketball teams will begin a new era on Tuesday night when they face Iowa State in the Big Ten Tournament, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Hawkeyes have won just one game in the regular season, and they were defeated by the Cyclones in overtime on Friday in their first loss in the tournament.
Iowa State, meanwhile, has not won a game since Dec. 21, and has a 10-8 record in conference play.
That includes a loss in overtime to Wisconsin on Friday.
The Cyclones also won their first Big Ten tournament game in a loss to North Dakota State in overtime.
Iowa and Wisconsin have met seven times, including last season’s Sweet 16.
Iowa had won 10 of the previous 13 meetings, but Wisconsin has won five of its last six.
Iowa will play two home games in its first season in the B1G Tournament, and the Hawkeyes are playing against an unranked opponent.
They are also playing at home in the final round of the tournament, which is the Big 12 Championship.
