Michigan State hoops team wins NCAA tournament

The Michigan State basketball team has reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1999, beating UCLA and playing a top-ranked Ohio State team in the first round.
The Spartans, who are seeded No. 6, reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in their last six trips.
Michigan State has played 11 of its last 15 games at home, and the Spartans had their second consecutive loss to the Buckeyes on Tuesday night.
The victory gave the Spartans a 4-0 series lead over the Buckeye squad, which finished the season with a 20-22 record.
Michigan State beat Wisconsin, the third-ranked team in Big Ten basketball, in the second game of the first-round series.
The Buckeyes beat the defending national champions, the Wisconsin Badgers, in two straight games to advance to the NCAA semifinals.
Wisconsin defeated No. 3 North Carolina State on Tuesday.
The Wolverines lost in the championship game to eventual national champion Oklahoma.
