Iowa basketball players to participate in USA Basketball’s ‘Women’s World Cup’

The U.S. women’s national basketball team will participate in the 2017 Women’s World Basketball Championship.
The USA Basketball Board of Governors unanimously approved a plan to begin the 2017-18 season at the United States Olympic Training Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The plan calls for the 2018-19 U.N. Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be held from September 23 to October 1.
In addition to the Women’s U.O.C., the U.P.C. will be the host for the 2017 and 2018 U.
The women’s UBWC will be held in June 2018.
In a statement, USA Basketball President Steve Kerr said, “I am pleased that the USA Basketball Women’s National Basketball Team is joining forces with the United Nations and the United Kingdom for the first time for the UBWS.
The U.K. will host the U20 Women’s Basketball Championship from September 9-12, 2018, with the winner qualifying for the 2019 World Cup.”

The 2018 U19 Women’s Championships will be played from September 25 to October 10, 2018.
The U18 Women’s Championship will be from October 18 to October 20, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia.
