How to get the best tickets for every game in 2018-19

A new set of data on the biggest football, basketball and tennis events in 2018/19 has revealed the biggest crowds, most seats and most expensive tickets.
A total of 9,000 tickets were sold for the Australian Open, a record number.
The Sydney Open drew a record crowd of 8,000 for the first time, with the average ticket priced at $2,500.
Ticket sales for the US Open rose to a record $6.5 billion, while the US men’s and women’s doubles finals saw attendance reach a record 9.7 million.
Tickets for the final round of the Australian Premier League were up 28 per cent, while women’s tennis had its biggest jump with ticket sales rising by 17 per cent.
Australia was also ranked third in the world for average ticket price, at $4,500, and fifth in the World Ranking.
Tickets for next year’s US Open in St Louis topped the US for the fourth year running, with ticket prices up 21 per cent to $7,500 a seat.
The US Open attracted an average of 4.4 million fans, up from 3.7m in 2018.
Wimbledon was the biggest selling event of the year with an average ticket of $3,700, and the most expensive, at an average price of $4.5 million.
The Australian Open was second with an attendance of 6.4m, with tickets up 18 per cent from last year.
