Google is ending support for Microsoft’s Microsoft Band 3
Microsoft has announced that the band is no longer supported by the company.
Google is making the announcement after Microsoft released its Windows Phone 8.1 software update, which fixes a bug that caused Band 2 to work too smoothly with the new Windows Phone platform.
Microsoft said the band “continues to work well on Windows Phone,” but the company said the Band 2 software update is “not an ideal fit for the Windows Phone ecosystem.”
Microsoft said it will be removing support for Band 2 in Windows Phone Store and Windows Phone Marketplace apps, and will provide an update to allow users to upgrade the Band without Band 2 support.
Microsoft’s Band 2 update is now available for download for those who are running the latest Windows Phone versions.
The Band 2 bug caused Band to work more smoothly with Windows Phone.
“This update brings Band 2’s compatibility with Windows 8 to a more seamless and enjoyable experience for all users,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
Microsoft released Band 2 on October 31, 2015, with a new design and battery life that is much better than the original.
