It was the last time the players would see each other before the start of a college basketball season.
After a half-hour delay, the alert system activated and the game was halted.
A number of players, including two Golden Eagles who were returning from the Bahamas, were evacuated.
A few minutes later, the players were greeted by coach and executive director of the University of Central Florida, Greg Mullins.
The alert system was activated for COASTals Basketball players to return home after a night out.
The players returned to their dormitories shortly after, and the games resumed.
The Golden Eagles were 6-3 and ranked No. 7 in the country at the time.
The Golden Eagles defeated Kentucky, 65-61, on Friday in the ACC tournament.COASTal is a basketball hotbed, with the Golden Eagle team playing a team from the University at Buffalo in a preseason game on Saturday.
The game was canceled due to a high volume of students in attendance.
