Posted On July 25, 2021
Arizona Wildcats fans have already had a busy week, as the team has faced five of the Big 12’s top six teams, including Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
They have been to the NCAA Tournament three times, making the Pac-12 Tournament.
This weekend they will take on a trio of conference foes: BYU, Gonzaga, and Baylor.
The Wildcats have never lost in the regular season, but they have lost two in a row to Baylor and are 1-7 in their last eight games against the Cougars.
Gonzaga is 2-0 against the Wildcats, and they have won four straight games overall.
After taking out Utah in the Elite Eight, the Zags will be looking to build on the success they have had in the last three weeks, including beating Texas and Texas Tech in the semifinals.
Baylor is 2 of 3 against Arizona this season.
After losing to Oregon in the first round of the tournament, Baylor will look to continue its strong showing and advance to the Sweet 16.
Gonzago has never lost to the Zag, but have dropped their last two games.
The Zags have not faced the Longhorns in the NCAA tournament, and will look for a similar performance to their upset win over the Cougs.
The Buffaloes will be trying to stay unbeaten against a Baylor team that has struggled to find their way offensively this season, as well as a Gonzaga team that is trying to keep up with the likes of Arizona and Oklahoma.
The final two matchups are a little bit different, as Arizona is playing a game at home versus the defending national champion UCLA Bruins.
Arizona has not lost to UCLA since 2012, and the Bruins are 4-0 in their past five games against Arizona.
The last time the Zagging faced UCLA, the Wildcats won by 19.
Gonzagat will be hoping to continue their recent momentum against a UCLA team that plays in the Pac 8, and UCLA is 3-0 vs. the Zips this season (5-0 overall).
